Memorial Service May 17
The St. Petersburg Police Department’s Annual Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016. The event will commence at 7:45 p.m. at the Heroes of St. Petersburg Police Law Enforcement Memorial at Demens Landing Park in downtown St. Petersburg. The park entrance is located at 1st Avenue South and Bayshore Drive Southeast.
The service will commemorate police officers, past and present, who by their faithful and loyal devotion have rendered a dedicated service to their community. The engraved ceremonial bell, which is kept at the police station during the year, will be brought to the site and rung once for each fallen officer as their name is read. The solid brass 24-pound bell is engraved with “St. Petersburg Police – Fortis Heroes,” and its clear tone will ring out in remembrance in the beautiful waterfront park.
Although this service commemorates the fifteen fallen officers of the St. Petersburg Police Department, it also honors all officers that have lost their lives, or have become disabled in the performance of their duties.
Please join us on May 17th as we remember our fallen officers and share our respect and reverence for the dedication of all law enforcement officers.

Our first HEROES 5K/10K Memorial Run was Friday, April 1, 2016
We netted in excess of $20k when over 600 participants met at Demens Landing in St. Petersburg, FL on Friday, April 1 to show support for the Heroes of the St. Petersburg Police by Walking, 10K, 1 Mile, 1K, 5K and Beginner Levels! Mayor Kriseman and Chief Holloway were honorary Co-Chairs for the event.
The mission of the Heroes of the St. Pete Police, Inc. is to honor St. Petersburg Police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and to provide financial support to assist officers and their families during a crisis or tragedy.
There have been 15 officers down in the line of duty from the St. Pete Police force. We are working to honor them with a monument to show appreciation to the officers’ dedication and the establishment of a fund to support officers and their families.
