Firefighter William K Walker served in the 506th Parachute Infantry of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. He saw action over Holland, in the Ruhr and in Normandy. He was discharged in 1945 and joined the St Petersburg Fire Department in 1946. He died from a fall from the Florida Theater Building during a Fire Prevention Week demonstration.
Firefighter Walker was survived by his wife and two sons, a sister and a brother and his parents. He lies in Memorial Park Cemetery, Division 5, Block 8, space 33, St Petersburg, Florida.
